death valley

Soon after getting under way we hit another high elevation mountain pass, one after another, some higher than 8,ooo' high,
past Mono Lake, a slowly dissapearing lake high in salt and mineral content with interesting formations known as tufa's, would be a great spot to explore but dammit , Death Valley is calling and it was too durn cold anyway.
We reach the little town of Big Pine, top up the fuel tanks and head up into the mountains again, but this time we are entering Death Valley National Park!! preparation is the key word when entering the park, as we will be in some of the most remote areas in all of California.
Up we climb to 5,000' over the Inyo mountain range on Saline valley road.
