Of course it wasnt ice, its over thirty degrees celsius! We are at Badwater basin, lowest point in north America at 282' below sea level, here Les is climbing out of the truck and that wee little sign up on the cliff is sea level.

leaving Badwater, heading for an old prospectors cabin that we tried to find the last time we were in Death valley, i think it was 2007. We didn't find it that time , but this time I came armed with my laptop with Delorme topographical maps loaded onto it and linked up to a GPS reciever. So dammit I am going to find it this time!!
