valley of the gods

Leaving GC we backtracked allot due to some road closures, and stopped at an area with these cool rocks.

This one looked like it could tip over any time.

On our way to Valley of The Gods we drove near Monument Valley which has way bigger monoliths than V of G but they charge $20 to drive through so we kept going, but impressive!

And just as it was getting dark we make it to V of G.

Where we set up camp and have a nice fire with a far away view of Monument Valley in the distance.

Next morning we drove  through the valley and ran into this guy who we talked to for a bit. He is living in this XP camper full time and is on a long trip, he also saw us  at the Overland Expo.

This place would be great to spend some time in, hiking and free camping and just hanging around, there are tons of camp spots that are spread out and apart from each other and when we were there only one other couple camping.
