Allright , so where was I, oh yeah,
the composites. Well I got the call and its all finally ready, yeeehaaaa!!!! I am so excited that I could pee myself. I organized with the makers to have a couple of guys there on Saterday to help load it. Drove up on Friday night , stayed at a buddies place, then early on Saterday picked it all up. It looked good. This stuff was what I based my whole design on and it was the hardest and took the longest part of the build so far. I started this whole thing May of 2009, in July I was ready to order the composites, and after dealing with several companies, altering a few details, getting quotes and finally ordering, it took up til late January 2010. Thats a long time to wait, so you can see my excitement. From the pics you can see that it was full on winter for the drive. This was the first time really driving the truck. It only has 1000KM on it. The road is the same as the one to my fishing spot so I got a bit of a comparison to my westy. Well , no comparison. We have a steep part called the snow shed, and in my westy I am down to about 60-70 KmPH. well this thing accelerated up it. Granted it was empty, but the power was good on the return leg too. For the trip I got 18.2 mpg imperial. Which I am very happy with.
I wanted to drive onto a scale but kept forgetting and driving by.
So now is where the real work starts. I have a good sized shop to build in so after getting it all in the shop (not really light) I started constructing in ernest.
