I continue to wake up early as soon as the sun starts to show so take a picture out the window from bed.
This would be a standard morning where we slowly get up, have some coffee and hang around, we have some more touristy things to do today, like go to Dry Falls.
If you want to know more google Dry Falls, Scablands, Potholes etc, but mostly its a lake that was formed by a glacial dam, the lake was larger than lake Superior, and when the dam broke it drained in less than a day making coolees, falls, potholes and general mass erosion in no time, well that is what we are following all the way along the Columbia river towards Portland, Oregon.
We did a little hike around the base of the falls checking out all the wierd eroded rocks and lakes, better known as potholes.
Truck with the Dry Falls in the background on the start of the hike, all this day was again really hot!
After the hike we were ready for a swim so hit Sun Lakes. This was a great lake to swim in, we had lunch here then filled up our water tank and decided to go have a swim in Deep Lake.Deep Lake was real nice but we took no pics.
We had planned to check out the campground at Sun Lakes in case we would stay there but they were not really our style so hit the road.
Not far along though was another spot that I had planned to stop at, Lake Lenore Caves. It was so hot and to see the caves would entail hiking UP! In the heat of the day!!
Well we went, and they were pretty cool in two ways..........phew!
On the way down from the caves we saw another couple get out of their air conditioned car, look at the sign, look up to where we were and run back into the air conditioned car and took off!! Wimps!
