Deadmans Valley 1

After Les got home from work we left for a three day trip to Deadmans Valley, that was around nine at night so we put Gold Pan provincial park into the GPS and we woke up here.

We didn't get much sleep with train tracks on both sides of the Fraser River and going all night, but we can sleep when we are dead!

Our plan was to get into some decent weather, find some hoodoo's, lakes, and some geocache's.

Had coffee and took off for Cache Creek where we turned off the highway and onto Back Valley road, once on the dirt we stopped to let the air out of the tires, we will be on dirt for the next 2-300km's.

While airing down I looked up and saw our first hoodoo's!

Ran into some of the locals.

This was a great leiserly drive through farm country with slowly changing vegatation.

Coming up on the intersection for Deadmans Valley.

Nudder hoodoo.

We spotted some mountain sheep too!

Hoodoo's.

We also drove through some poo on the road, yumm!

Our first stop was going to be Split Rock, but as usual we dont get too far before we stop.

Me with GPS and telling Les "its around here".

Split rock, I dont know the story behind this, all I know is its split??

Les finds her first geocache, she was very excited, and for those that dont know what geocache is, well you get coordinates, put them in your GPS unit and track down caches, some are well hidden, they have a sign in book and some stuff to trade, this is a world wide game.

More sheep.

Interesting geology in this valley, those cliffs run the whole length.

Hoodoo's.
