After spending a glorious weekend labouring at home putting the pool away, buying a new lawn mower, mowing the lawn, cutting trees, pruning bushes, and hacking back at the jungle and trying to reclaim my neglected yard, I had had enough of home so with a weekend coming up I planned a trip to Jones lake. We used to go to Jones all the time but since one of the bridges to our favourite spot was removed we stopped going. I decided to go have a look. I loaded the canoe onto the truck and headed out Saterday morning.
On the way I stopped to go for a walk at our usual spot along the dikes in the Sumas prarie. This walk takes you along a little river with some wildlife, we see hawks, eagles, blue herons, humming birds, muskrats, and lately a family of beavers.
The beavers are climbing up the banks and grabbing some corn, shown in this lower pic, you can see the trail and the missing corn.
