steps to somewhere

The other thing I managed to get done was the steps to the camper. I am my worst enemy with things like that, I had them made with such narrow margins for error that it took me a while to get them intalled. If I would give things more space and less precision I would'nt have so much hassle installing them. Like the little bit of a notch in the top step in the lower pic, that is so the steps can sit closer to the suspension shackle which gives me a larger and wider step. So after a bunch of cutting, grinding swearing and yelling they fell into place.

The door and the steps work in unison, they fit together like a glove with no room to move around. A little bit more support around the door and some anti skid and they are pretty much done.

i think that it works OK, the hieght of the door is good, and the step up is good, not perfect but good. I have some plans to make a fold down step that when up, provides protection for the door, and when down, lowers the first step and makes a little platform. I saw that design on my brother inlaw's tent trailer and I liked it so I may do something like it.
